There was a kid in my class who was not adjusting well to school. There was a huge maturity gap between him and the rest of the students in my class (crying everyday after lunch , wanting his mama, not interacting well with his peers etc.). On a hunch I went to get a copy of his registration form. At the same time our school nurse was checking immunization records. She & I caught the error together.
Well, guess what? My little angel was only 4 yrs. old!!! Wasn't going to be 5 until way after the Dec. 1st cut off. Our district has registration for Pre-K and kindergarten in the same place... somehow he ended up in my classroom. The day after the 4 yr. old left I got another new student..... surprise!
